Casa Do Cotto

The Casa de Cotto in Felgueiras, is Brazilian and traces its origin back to the sixteenth century. Belongs to one of the oldest families of the Iberian Peninsula, linked to the Portuguese through D. Sancho Nunes de Barboza, son of the first king of Portugal. Well protected by gardens and vineyards, this is a beautiful house with a chapel, which suffered in the course of its existence some increases and changes. It has recently been modernized through skillful restoration work that made it very functional, the current owner, Albano Mendonca, direct descendant of the original owner. The house is surrounded by spacious lawns manicured gardens with a swimming pool and friendly places protected by shade trees that invite long hours of rest. Six comfortable rooms, a living room where guests gather from all nationalities to fellowship, and a games room always useful and welcome, make the stay pleasant and friendly. Within walking distance of home, the Amarante golf course is situated at an altitude of six hundred meters, which constitutes a real challenge, with beautiful and fast greens and superb countryside.
